Raising the Bar

Gary Kasparov was the youngest ever World Chess Champion in 1985. He was rated world #1 almost continuously from 1986 until his retirement in 2005. He is arguably the greatest chess player in history.

Was Kasparov able to move his chess pieces differently than others? No. Did he play on a different chess board? No. Were there special rules allowed Gary that others were denied? No.

What made Gary Kasparov the best chess player was his command of strategy. He was able to recognize which strategies gave him the best probability of winning.

At TS Financial, Inc., we also think strategy is the key to consistent, positive returns. We have several different approaches to making money in the markets.

Our Gameplan...

Monthly Income

The majority of our strategies are market-neutral strategies designed to generate monthly income in the 1–3% range. This doesn't mean we don't have an opinion about the market. It just means we don't need the market to move a certain direction to make our profit targets. The market can move up, down, or stay the same and we can still make money.

These trades are done in a consistent fashion each and every month. All investments we make have a defined risk/reward. Because of our active risk-management we're able to get an edge on the markets.

Speculative

We devote a much smaller part of the portfolio to speculative, high-return trades. These are designed to provide a very large potential return, but with a small amount invested. This type of trade is appropriate around earnings announcements or big economic news.

Since we have a fiduciary duty to our clients, we do not take unnecessary risks. We have a specific process to generate profits while controlling risk. We do not deviate from our plan.
